This is my first medium-sized sculpture. What makes a sculpture medium-sized? Arbitrary assignment of value, that’s what. But to me, it’s bigger than a bread box but smaller than a Yugo, so I’m labeling it ‘medium.’
I like the flowing nature of Flamedrop. Gentle, organic lines (ones that are wispy or curvy, not sharp or too angular) are attractive to me; hence, these are the shapes I try to emulate.
Does this sculpture make you think of water, or a flame (or something else)? Originally based on the lines of a raindrop or teardrop, I've had more than one person say how it looked like a flame to them.
