I recently received an e-mail from a woman in Houston who had seen my 'Organic Network I' sculpture in Canopy restaurant's bar area.
The client, originally from Tennessee, is fond of the live oak trees that grace her home state as well as her Houston neighborhood. My sculpture at Canopy reminded her about her favorite thing in Houston: the abundance of live oaks in her neighborhood. I prefer commissions because that process ensure the client gets exactly what she wants in a piece (size, emotion, etc.). However, this particular sculpture met her criteria for dimensions and was exactly what she was looking for. I installed 'Organic Network I' over the mantle in her new home. Even her husband is happy. And I'm quite pleased to have added 'Organic Network I' to their art collection! |
