Driftwood that wandered to my studio’s shore has been incorporated into this sculpture titled ‘Drifting Devil Snail’.
For those of you who don’t know, a few years ago I began doodling a little creature who captured my affection and was awarded the moniker ‘Devil Snail.’ I took him to 3-D in a much larger sculpture crafted back in 2010. (Look up the Musing about it from Nov 2010). As I’ve said before, Devil Snail’s pointed antennae and forked tongue aren’t meant to frighten. He’s got attitude, but if one is to survive for long in this world, it’s a necessary trait. He’s sassy, not scary. The wee snail in this sculpture is a miniature guy at 3” tall, but he’s still got plenty of sass. Overall, ‘Drifting Devil Snail’ measures 4.5” x 8.5” x 3”. Comments are closed.
