I’m a fan of Galveston, TX, and have been for many years. When living in Houston, day trips on the weekend to Galveston were commonplace for me. Back in 2003 we bought a cottage in the historic East End. Ten years later, I found myself debuting my sculpture at Third Coast Gallery in the downtown Strand area of Galveston. The first sale of the evening at my debut was to Sandra and Floyd Pollock. They bought a tabletop sculpture of mine called ‘Sprouts.’
Imagine my surprise and delight to read about Sandra and Floyd’s architectural treasure of a home on pp. 10-11 of the East End Historical District’s September 2014 newsletter. And then I spied an accompanying photograph on page 11 of Sandra and Floyd seated in their parlor with ‘Sprouts’ prominently displayed on their coffee table. It made my day!
